Meet your Workshop Host

Mel is an Australian-Canadian, proud mother of two (and a beloved rescue dog), with over 20 years of Project Management experience. Mel earned her PMP designation in 2015 and MBA in 2023, dedicating her career to driving impactful change through meticulous planning and execution.

For nearly two decades, Mel has actively contributed to the non-profit sector and served on various boards. She is currently the President of the Project Management Institute, Canadian West Coast Chapter (PMI-CWCC). In April 2025, Mel completed her Governance Professionals of Canada designation (GPC.D) to deepen her ability to support Boards with practical, high-quality governance and planning expertise.

In January 2016, Mel founded Koja Consulting, a boutique consultancy specializing in small-to-medium-sized projects with values-driven organizations, particularly NGOs. Recognizing a growing need, Koja’s offerings expanded in 2021 to include Board Support Services, empowering boards to work effectively and align their efforts with their organizational missions.

With a passion for collaboration, governance, and impactful project delivery, Mel is committed to helping organizations thrive while staying true to their core values.
